It ran fine on mine, 128Mb GeForce4 Ti4600 (overclocked).
What you didn't mention is how much RAM and what speed CPU you have......they may be the cause.

CPU is more than enough, it only requires 1.5GHz and above......but, however, you don't have enough RAM, minimum spec is given as 384Mb.
But, as already said, try upgrading your graphics card drivers first...

slightly low on ram but i doubt thats the reason its crashing. Do any error msgs pop up at all? you on XP? Sounds like a software conflict, most probably driver related. Maybe sound, possible GFX BIOS or simply driver. As said, start trying to get newer drivers. Dont rule out anything.

I think Richie's right, if the refresh rate in-game is wrong the monitor will just blank out. Try installing the monitor driver aswell, or try a different resolution.

aaaaaah i got it! as some above have mentioned, the refresh rates, especially the vertical and horizontal sync of your monitor may be too low for when the game runs, does this on FS2004 on mine sometimes, get round it by pressing ctrl-enter to shrink the screen to window, maybe Doom3 does this too? My monitor comes up with an error though that vert sync is too high and then shuts itself off. Give it a try, it might work.
