Mate has just got a 306 TD and wants dump valve I'm not sure if its possible and if it is where to get one from can anyone help? I'm pretty sure I saw a 306 with a dump valve on Monday at Warrrington and since they don't make a petty turbo I assume it was a TD?

You can but its not like putting one into a petrol turbo engine. They need fairly complex solenoids, switches and piping to the brake lines so that they work. Hence the usual price to have one fitted is 250quid or more.

Plus fitting, which isn't as simple as a petrol car.

Im not disputing the info here, but why does a dumpvalve need piping to the brake lines on a diesel?

Because a diesel engine doesn't have the same vaccum, so to get the vacuum to for the DV to dump, you have to get the vacuum out of the brake servo lines.

diesel engines dont create a vaccum thats why if you look on your alternator there will be a oil fed pump on the side of it to make a vaccum for the brake servo.
