I'd leave it how it is for now sassy.
Too much hair dye and it takes your hair ages to recover, some salons have special bleach type stuff that removes all of the dye but im not sure how much it cost and how often its done.
I think my hair is kinda the same as yours, its curly if i dont straighten it  and its brown, i get bored and at the weekend i got some blonde and gold highlights put in, just on the top and they look good, they arent really bright just subtle
