Imagine this. You're 18, just passed your test, and you have just bought a brand new Corsa 1.2 SXi. You have to pay for your own insurance (instead of going on parents' insurance) and you live in a nice quiet area. How much would you expect to pay a year, for insurance. 
£2300 is the cheapest quote i got. 
I even said i'd store it in a garage, and do 4k miles a year. I know this may be normal for someone my age, but i hear people getting quotes of £1800. Now, is this because i live in the mean streets of birmingham, where chavs roam the streets, and steal cars all night and all day? Or is it cos im only 18. Someone help me out here

Cheers for that leeshez. Turns out my area is A, but that means my insurance should be low 
Unless its Tescos just trying to mock me.

I've just realised something on my Tesco quote. They dont allow mods, so thats a kick in the balls for me. Looks like it'll be higher still

young4u insurance or whatever it is called is uselss. despite their misleading name and slogan "cheaper premiums for younger drivers", i was charged £3000 more then tesco, bringing their quote to over £5500 and thats fucking outragous

the problem your gonna have is (i have a mate with the same problem) that if your insurance is high because of your postcode then any mods to your car (which make it a lot more "stealable") will put yourpremium through the roof!
have you tried vauxhall insurance?

PMSL! I never realised that Tesco didn't allow for mods....
or are we talking performance mods because i havent got any of those. Just suspension, grill and wheels.

Enquire into getting your Pass Plus certificate. Usually a set of about 6 driving lessons, where you do some "advanced" driving. Its all bollocks and if you can pass your test you'll pass the course. Cost me about £100 to do it, but it bought my insurance down £360!
