Not dangerous, been proven by British Aerospace apparently, and also by me who has left his phone on a couple of times during flying lessons

Certain 'older' phone used to transmit far too much microwave radiation, and used to really screw up the EICAS and CRT screens on certain Boeing's and McDonnell Douglas jets. Actually.
