Just a general question guys, when modding your car do post of you do the work yourself or take it to a body shop??

Things like smooth boots, bad boy bonnets, smoothing & fitting kits etc?

depends what it is, if if small things then yeah i do it myself but dont have the facilities to take on big body work jobs. engine work i try and do myself tho and any other general repairs

id rather pay a professional to do it and get a proper job done. i could probably do most things myself, apart from spraying.

just wondering really cos iv got a project goin at the mo and between me and a mate we are doing everything bar spraying (smooth boot, bad boy bonnet, full smooting of a kit that doesnt really fit together )

yes although havent started body mods yet and i'd doubt i'd have the tallent ot either. but anything that requires a spanner i do myself

i try to do everything myself, get people to help me etc and show me how to do things, did all my bodywork myself with help from mates apart from painting, but i hope to learn to paint fairly soon

everything except bodywork/spraying. I spray small parts with cans though, i've just done my interior and it came up really nice. I wouldn't want to attempt spraying panels or kits without the proper tools and equipment though

on my old corsa i fitted most things myself, or my mates did stuff for me so nothing was done professionally on the bodywork or electrics not even the smooth boot.

only the exhaust and solenoid for smooth boot did i pay any professional to do it

u save so much these days as labour is expensive

Fitted my front splitter, EVO spoiler and meshed my front bumper/grills

Wouldnt go as far as spraying as I've never done it
