Black diamond or EBC do it for me. But if you're shelling out for discs just get a V6 upgrade, you won't regret it.

Not true, the calipers are better and bigger and have a bigger piston - lots better.

yeah I agree with and-m above

The astra, cav, cally 16v 256mm front brakes have a bigger caliper piston. They are much better then the standard Corsa GSi brakes.

Wrong

There the same size, the only difference is that the 2ltr ones are 4mm thicker

thats right

i had standard gsi brakes- 256mm x 20mm with tiny calipers!!!
now i got me some 2litre 16v set up- still 256mm but 24mm thick with some chuncky calipers!
stopping power is amazing compared to my standard gsi brakes!!!
the car actually stops dead when you want it to and it dont swerve anymore under hard braking from 70+ mph
cant imagine the stopping power of a V6 setup!! jus make sure you got abs if u get V6! or u will lock them up quite easily at high speeds

I would skip ATE claipers and disks every time after experiencing V6's they are bloody good brakes bit of an arse having to fit steel hoses all round, cos the rears are hard to do i nearly cried doing mine, but well worth it, ya brakes can never be good enough

but for the £40 you can pick up new/recon'd ATE calipers and 256mmx24mm is a pretty good deal.
