Looking at one that's 4 years old 30k on the clock.

Does this cars engine have a timing belt or timing chain?

If it's a belt it needs done. If it's a chain then it won't.

Thanks

the 2.2 is a belt still i think, but dont take my word for it. good engine the 2.2's many people dis regard them, and go up from the 2.0 to the turbo. you can often get some good kit on/in the 2.2 if its used.

2.2 is a fabulous engine, I've owned both and thats the better drive for power delivery and low down torque.

Timing is chain not belt.

This kit will allow you guys over there to run more boost then what we can over here because of our high emission standards. You should be able to run 10psi which is approx an additional 100-130hp from stock at the wheel. Total hp numbers for you guys in the UK at the wheels should be around 230-260 hp. Again, that is at the wheels. The flywheel hp will actually be around 300 or close to.

The charger from Courtenay is as follows:

200 bhp and 199 lbft of torque, however this was achieved in Switzerland on a standard exhaust system, air box and 95 octane fuel. Cars in the UK with a free flowing exhaust and 98 octane fuel can expect to see 220+ bhp.

The conversion costs £5500 fitted.

Oh and the turbo kit is around £2100 plus fitting.

So it's not a 4year/40k change interval then :-)

Dont know whether the engine is different (wouldnt have thought so), but the 2.2 in the hatch gave me pretty poor mpg. 30 was the best i saw at any point, and that was 60mph cruising.

Albeit, the car had 700 miles on the clock, and i'm used to derv mpg, so i guess 30 aint too bad.
