You should have used longer nuts in the first place - whenever you get wheels from a decent supplier you should get new bolts suitable for the wheel... Just a word of warning for people out there.

kahn did give me bolts, however with 5mm spacers i guess they to small?

I'd have said 5mm spacers would have been fine.

Any more than that and you'll be looking at larger bolts.

I put 5mm spacers on Rachels car for the front due to the centre cap not going over the hub on her Speedlines and used the bolts that you gave her for the 17's, they went in fine.

My only theroy is that when vauxhall swapped my alloys

from my 1.2 -> my 1.8 they didnt swap the bolts.

Thus meaning i have standard bolts on the SRi and Kahn bolts on the SXi.

I havent compared both to see if the Kahn bolts are longer mind.

The garage advised the rear bolts on the SRi should be fine as the current ones, however advised me to buy longer bolts for the front asap,

Its still drivable with smaller bolts (i have been using it for the last 2 months) however its not safe enough said the garage,

Well if that is the case (ill find out on saturday

Ill just swap the bolts over

It wont do the cars any harm un doing one bolt from each wheel and then swapping them over without jacking the cars up will it?

Nah, replace one at a time - normally opposite bolts but that's when you're doing them up at the same time.

yea lee,

that was an option, however would of been a little while to get somone in o do it, etc etc and i would rather have a whole new hub.

Ill just charge vauxhall

also if you get them retapped you would need bigger bolts as the standard thread would slide in and out

Hack saw wasn't really working because the bolts are hardened, i had to use the angle grinder and file. and its a major chore

hacksaw was a loosly used tirm, id have wacked a grinder on them, or a still saw!

Just got car back,

The hub is fooked, end of the bolt is just round, LOL no thread at all,

I have a bill for 215.52 ontop of what i paid for my suspension,

needed new flange/hub, new bolt, new bearing kit. + labour to fit it all :/

vauxhall should be coughing up mind.

£215 for a new hub and bearing

And people wonder I don't want a new car?

I could get a hub for the Nova from Lee for free, get a bearing for £18 quid and get my mate to press it in.

Refit myself and I'm laughing.
