You can do evenings and weekends, but that's the home service of the Royal Irish Regiment. You guys don't really need a full time OR part time home service over there.

I plan to join the TA and if I enjoy that with the training etc I will eventually progress into the army.
At least it gives me a taster into army life and will make me better prepared.

I was in for 3 years and got my corporal, left just before i was supposed to get my sgt
I did my first aid qualifications, so at least i left with some skills i can use somewhere else

seriously though mate- its a good idea.
A good mate of mine joined the army 3 years ago and still loves it. Intelligent lad who knows ecaxtly what he wants to do. Lots of good career oppurtunities and a respectable discipline

Not really, the 2 week annual camp might a bit but I really can't see you joining and lasting past recruitment phase

i was going to join to pass the time before i go in the marines but i'm waiting to have an opperation on my knee atm......ojc, join the TA and tell me what its like...it will give you an insight into what its like in the army but i suppose it depends which regiment or branch you want to join
