Adam - how did you find your first encounter with the windscreen wiper stalk?
I had to drive for 10 miles and ask for help on how to turn the fucker off I didn't realise that it didn't operate in sequence
Also, the dash stops working when the lights are on - bad earth.

The Golf is crazy - it keeps popping a gear linkage - no biggie, just can't get into 1st or 2nd.

getting into this golf stuff, big engine supose to be really easy to do as there all basic the same platform. bolt in kind of job, so may look into a bigger engine, or even the XE
glad you all like it
seams a nice car, going to clean it all and find if theres anything that need doing before anything else

Go for a 2.0 16v from a Passat (9a short block), Mk1 engine mounts are plentiful, then an exhaust manifold from a Scirocco (Supersprint or Ashley) is a direct fitment for the cabriolet

Mine's got a brand new roof - £100 on ebay, £100 to fit (considering it took about 4 hours to fit, £25/hr is cheap labour!).
Glass rear window too!
