if its illegal to only have your sidelights on at night? I.E, no dipped beam in nicely lit arears?

i have angel eyes fitted, they only look half good when there on side lights (completely blue rings).I'm talking about going through town, no motorway driving or anything lol...just street driving...i can see fine with just side lights...providing the street is well lit.

i'm not worried about the fine, just worried that its illegal not to display dipped at night...i dont wanna end up with points

The law says that between the hours of sunset and sunrise you need to display white front lights and red rear lights on any vehicle using the road. Having blue ligths would be totally illegal anyway, and having just your sidelights on is a stupid idea, i'm sure you would get pulled over and a good anal bashing for doing so.

The need to be white but assuming the colour is suitable then it is legal to drive displaying only side-lights when you're in a 30 limit (actually not, see the link).
You should use headlights as a precaution, even thought it is not a legal requirement.

so basicly, if i display blue side lights in a 30mph limit with street lights...its not an indorsable??? offence..and can only get a fine?
