Looking for new rubber for next year. At the moment i am on Falken 205/40/17.
Think i can get 215 on the rims. I would like to try 215/45/17 next year cos these are too thin and would like to increase the ride height a touch so my exhaust doesnt catch as much... so any suggestions

I had some Flaken ZE512's on my corsa in 195/45/15 fitment, loved 'em. Wopuld recommend some Toyo's if you can spare the cash, quicker wearing than others but all good.

215/45 are huge compared to 205/40.

I think big tyres look ugly round a rim.
Love the look of my 215/35/18's. Like a rubber band stretched round the rim, lol.
You do notice the loss of comfort though going from 205/40/17 to 215/35/18

What car are you fitting the 17s to?
If it's a Corsa then try 195/45/17s - Pirelli do the PZero Nero's in this size.
Even 205/40 is a bit of a stupid tyre size for 17s on a Corsa, but it's the most cost-effective tyre for wheel and tyre packages.

I found these tyres shocking in the wet, and not so good in the dry. And that was back when the car was a 1.4, now it's 2L just plain nasty. goodgear F1's are the future.

^^^ yep had the same falken's too. crap in the wet, average in the dry (but they r a hard compound, budget tyre)
Currently have hankook K104's . Absolutely different league. much more like what i was expecting from a performance tyre Highly recommended

would 215/40 be slightly better
I want more rubber to soften the bumps like a cushion.
These are going on a mazda 323f so no problems with tyre sizes
Might have to shop around
