hiya!
Still got my X6 rockford amp, looking to pair it up to a pioneer sub, (instead of the rockford one i posted about before...) The sub im looking at is TSW-121SPL. Here's some info:

X6 amp:
850 W X 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS
425 W X 1 @ 4 Ohms RMS
(But when its running its got a certificate to say it works at 1221W@2ohm RMS)

TSW-121SPL sub:
Dual 4-ohm voice coils: 2 or 8 ohm
Maximum Power 2000 Watt
Nominal input power 750 Watt

Is this a good pairing? could you tell me if it'll work well, and how to wire it up (at 2ohms if poss) or just how to get it as loud as poss?

Or if im barking up the wrong tree completely, what would the PERFECT sub be?

Cheerz people

those are low grade subs IMO, if u want a SPL sub u wanna be looking at a RE one...

RE SE 12

or

RE MT 12 (Beast SPL sub)

As you can see, i dont know much about this type of thing...

a dual 4 ohm sub wired in parallel like that will give a 2 ohm load.

if you want a good system use one or other of the 2 RE subs i listed wired like that and it will be loud if thats wat u r after??

are u rerally wanting a SPL sub?

Hmmm.. When i read the properties of the subs you gave me, both them and mine are dual 4 ohm, and have about the same watts RMS.
So arent they exactly the same?

The reason im lookin a a Pioneer SPL sub, is ive never had any problems with pioneer before, and its well cheap
Why would the subs you listed be louder than the pioneer one?

The RMS power handling of the sub makes no difference to sub volume, its about cone surface area and excursion...

No they DEFFO wont be the same...

I would deffo expect so, the pioneer is cheap for a reason, the RE's are designed with a much more specialist aim, they will hit higher db if powered properly.

Cheerz for all that
I've always gone by RMS for sub volume. How do i find excursion rates then? to compare which sub is louder?
