so i bought the kit for smoothing the tailgate. (solenoid, relay,swich)
can any1 tell me what the relay is meant to be doing ? it doesnt seem to assist the unlocking of the boot in anyway.
also,
when i press the switch to release, the bootlid wont come off the latch!
Any help plz, this is driving me nUtTSs!

you need to cut/grind the second stage of the bootlock out, or fit a spring between the gate and car body. or get a someone else to wait with their fingers under the lip while you activate the solenoid.
you can unwind the boot slam mushrooms a bit to create a bit of spring to push past the latch, but the downside is that it'll make the boot harder to close.

do wot he said first ^^^, file the safety catch off.
I put a pic up a while ago on where to file but take it off and common sense will tell u where to file...
