Think there called ID3 tags but I was wondering if there is any simple software that allows you to change them easily or even automically updates them form the web like a few programs do with CDs

you can use winamp to edit ID3 tags.

or realplayeer downloads the tags from the internet when you use realplayer to download cd info

Or Windows XP lets you edit ID3 tags.

Right click the file, goto Properties, then Summary. Each field is an ID3 tag, lets you edit it. The Advanced button gives you more.

Download "Mp3 tag tools" you can do whole albums in one go then instead of editting them one at a time.
It's a lot easier, and a nice program once u get used to it

The Godfather also does this, it'll even connect to the net and download album and song titles for you.
