Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of a Corsa B buying guide? Not list prices and stuff that can be found on parkers but common problems to always check for with pre/face lift Corsa B's.

Also if you know any stinkers to look for when viewing a Corsa to buy, can you post them?

How sensible do you want it, I've got the money waiting. Instead of making me guess until I got the right number why not just say "I want £2330.65". Alot easier IMHO.

Just go down an look at it, there are only a handful of things you need to remember an the rest is pretty much common sense

Cambelt change needed every 40k miles. Clutch cables can stretch or jam. Suspension wears quickly; driveshafts clonk as the miles mount.

b-pillar cracks

rust on front chassis legs where they attach to lower cross member

use of trolley jacks in wrong place on the underside - they will be crushed up & rusting

jacking points - check for rust

rust around the rear wiper mount (see icys post)

rust on the boot hinges & also the lil rubber tube which goes from the shell to the boot

cracks on the welding for the front door hinges

rust around the edges of the windscreen and other windows (bubbling)

slam panel rust

engine mounts rusting

whisteling noise when the blowers are on means the pollen filter needs replacing - will also affect how well the car de-mists the windscreen

the lil hooks which hold the front seats in - seen a few of these split/come off

heck... it is a corsa
