I have a new slim Playstation 2 in my car which is running off a 300w inverter and connected to 2 7” sun visor screens.
My problem is around every 6-10 seconds a white line works it way up from the bottom of the screen to the top distorting the image on the screen in the process.
What can I do to stop this Interference and what could be causing it? The inverter?
Thanks in advance

feed t he screens another video signal (eg: from a video/dvd player etc) and see if it still happens (make sure the ps2 + inverter is switched off).
Then try the inverter plugged in aswell and see if it happens then.
But personally i think its the inverter, considering they produce alot of interfearance anyways. Do a google for a slim ps2 car power supply - its only needs something like 8.5volts at 5amps, although a few of us on here did a search for one when they came out and know one had produced them, but im sure someone must have know

i had a ps2 running off a 120w inverter, and had no interference. how is your inverter set up, and how are the tv's set up to the ps2? As someone said try running it to one screen and see what happens

I didn' set the screens up myself so I don't know where the screen connections are located behind the dash.
The playstation is in the glovebox and the invertor is strapped under the glovebox.
I know about the ps2 working of 8.5v, the same company managed to blow up my first ps2 in the process of trying to make an adaptor to power it!
When an in car adaptor is eventually released I'll get one to replace the invertor as it makes an annoying buzzing noise

The inverter being too close to the ps2 is probably whats causing your problems

I found out that it is the invertor causing the interference.
With the invertor and the playstaion turned off the screens are fine - no white scrolling lines
as soon as the invertor is turned on the white lines start rolling
I'll have to live with it until a proper in car adaptor is made

have you tried moving the inverter away from the playstation/screens?? or the only other solution is to get a decent inverter, but your looking at about 150+ for an inverter that is fairly clean etc etc
i take it, there still isnt a ps2 slim car adaptor/PSU yet?

I've serached the net high and low and I can't find anything about an in-car adaptor for the new style playstation
Don't think spending £150 on an invertor is an option really, I'd rather live with the interference
