How easy would it be to cut thru the original parcel shelf to fit 6x9s or am i better of making a new one then covering it it felt and what is it best to be made out of?

Its easy enough to cut through.

Mark up where you want them to be, then make a hole and get jigsaw through the hole and cut round the line which u marked.

Saves you having to make a new shelf then cut the holes

Nah I wudnt think so.

You can get different jigsaw blades for cutting different materials, go to your nearest DIY shop and ask about it if you really worried about it.

TBH tho I dont think it will break it and even if it does at the end of the day its no big deal if u break a blade, they arent exactly expensive.

make sure u drill a good size pilot hole to stick the blade in before you start.
