APPARENTLY the spacers are to space the CV away from the hub carrier, sometimes they can catch - I think the ABS ones with teeth do. Mine are fooking close so im using them but you MUST re-torque the bearings after 10miles or so...

Cheers Beardy, needed mine quick quick. Finished the job tonight - was standing on the breaker bar to tighten them so I think they are tight enough Lets se how long these last. Polly Bushes next week and a re-allignment, two new front tyres and that should be the steering/sus sorted for the next year

do u mean standing on the breaker var to tighten the castle nut? if so mate they shouldnt be that tight. tourque to around 90 lb ft then slacken right off then torque to 20 lb ft and then tighten by a further 90 degrees

No difference in handling/steering just a quieter ride... Well after driving 40odd miles with them super tight I noticed they were rumbling on hard corners so I slackened them off and torqued them up as per haynes...
Still getting a slight rumbling passenger side but hopefully it will wear smooth... Cheers for the help guys, expensive job really all-in-all but it needed sorting. BCM filter and nice stainless zorst system after Crimbo...
God I should get rid of this car and get myself a proper car and leave it alone!! any offers
