Have any of you been out and had a few pints whilst on anti-biotics?

The anti-biotics I am on are the most common ones I think amoxicillin, so quite a few of you have probably taken them before.

My works christmas drinking binge starts in about 45 minutes.

I was on them a while ago, they should be ok as long as you dont totally mad an have shitloads to drink.

i did it once not recommending it but i just got para quicker i was on penicillin VX and i also think it may render them useless for a while cos u just wreck ure body rite down

Have done it loads of times, had an alergic reaction once last xmas face went blotchy for about an hour that was it

it won;t make you get drunk quicker or anything like that. the only thing that is likely to happen is that the acetaldehyde produced from the de-toxification of the ethanol could block the mode of action of the beta-lactam ring.
