ffs

has happened before and i pushed bonnet down and it worked.

its not coming up, the little lever in footwell feels as if its already pulled, (is slack and so is cable)

but the actual bonnet won't pull up or even pop half up

any suggestions?

it feels like the latch for the lever hasn't sprung back into place but the bonnet has shut

stick hand thru drill and pull the cable

Could be the cable is stuck for some reason, rock the bonnet up and down with a bit of force and it might sort it (worked on my other car)

have tried banging bonnet a lot, felt like it bent a little.

am gonna try spraying loads of WD-40 into the latch and leaving it.

it may of frozen as i jet wash it yesterday and left it sitting there overnight

Jack the front of car climb underneath with a lamp/torch and if youv'e got long arms you should be able to reach and undo it with a screwdriver.

@ Tomas - will try that if the wd40 method fails.

@Ditch - that was my first thoughts, before i had a dooby and stood looking at it for 15mins (sometimes that works too)

took me ages and ages of banging, bashing and cursing before the cable sorted itself out. if its frozen shut then maybe some hot water may help

Get a dremel and just cut around the bonnet release latch.

Just spray deicer on it, if its frozen then that would soon sort it, else just get undernearth and knock it open

a small lump of c4 explosive.... or use an angle grinder to chop the bonnet off, i did this after a little accident with a volvo xc90

wot u need 2 get into bonnet for anway?

oil - itll be ok without it
water - itll only over heat no biggie
clean it - itll get dirty anyway.

ran out of washer fluid for windscreen and wanted to adjust suspension

got it open today, just took some playing.

its the bit that catchs the bonnet feels seized, needs greasing

WD40 solves everything. Nearly, anyway.
