Engine blew on monday, had done 111k.My mates like the car, my sister does not like it.
I dont know what to do, this was my first car...im 18.If i was to keep it would have a subtle body kit on it, like a rieger and get some nice 15's, full stainless steal exhast system etc.
Wot do you think? Is it time to move on...or does she derserve a make over?

Its got potential but if it needs an engine you'd be better of selling it to someone who wants a valver project.

will, if i was to keep id put in a 1.2 8v for now...give it a body kit...lose the fuel sticker, twsit badge etc...colour code roof racks and genally smarted it up...then save up for a 2 litre conversion.

I love the GSI kits too

If you're thinking about changing cars then you've already made your mind up to get rid.

If you get a valver, yes it would be nice but you're only 18. Stick with a smaller engined car for a while whilst you build up experience.

The worst thing u can do is spend a fortune on ur first car and get really attatched 2 it - I know from experience.

It makes it 10 times harder 2 part with it l8r on, like writing it off, or getting it nicked. Or like mine - rotting away 2 nothing! DOH!

Well if your only 18..why not just make it look abit better and with another 1.2 engine..(what about a 1.2 16v)..

keep it for 12-18months then punt and get something better..

not going to cost too much to make it look a wee good tidy car......+engine of course...

Would a 1.2 16v not be a pain to fit in a 1.2 8v as the mounts etc, plus the 1.2 16vs have power steering(I dont kno whether this makes a difference as Im not up on engine transplants) and even though I have a 1.2 16v i do not rate them to be brutally honest (but then agen Matty I told you what cars I have owned/ driven in the past)!

Yes and its no brains like you that mean the rest of us shell out so much for insurance due to the false claims

Get another 1.2 but in for a couple hundred quid keep it until you have a bit of cash and buy something decent.......forget about bodykits they suck
