Have my engine painted/powdercoated matt black?

Due to get it back soon, want to have it done matt black, including the cam cover and the spark plug cover but leaving the lettering silver.

Is this possible?

Cheers

with black being very heat absorbant, I dont know if this would have an adverse effect on the engine? maybe? just a thought.

the spark plug cover is difficult, what you could do is have it powercoated black, then have the top skimed so its bare metal underneath, writing will be sliver thenthen have it lauqured

what ever you d dont have the cam cover sandblasted

Why not to have cam cover done> Iceman and myke have theirs done, unless i am getting the part wrong

no you need to have it chemically dipped, as it will ruin your engine, as seen when i got something similar done to a certain red corsa

Yes i want it done like Jamesw's engine but matt black

Will go with the silver/black theme very well

JR am i right in thinking its the bit covering the cam belt on the lefthand side of the block? Surely painting the outside wouldnt make a difference to it?

thats the cam belt cover

i read it as you wanted to replace the cam cover, which is obviously the bit that covers the cams

you'll prolly have to get it sprayed and then just sand off the lettering like the above has been done. Problem is there is no guarante it'll last long unless you use high temp resistant paint
