what size are my standard front components ('99 sport) and what would be a typical price to upgrade them, to something which can handle the output from my h.u a bit better?

cheers

ye get adaptor kit from halfords and you can stick in 15cm or 17cm. You are prob looking at £100 to upgrade to some components such as Alpine 17cm

the diameter doesnt matter, but the depth of the speaker does ive had problems where the magnet is either too big to fit through the hole in the door, or its too deep and stops the window coming down properly And i had these probs with a set of 6.5" PG comps, had to send them back

And if its a corsa B, the depth you have is about 65mmMAX, around the 2" mark

they make corsa b adaptors to both 13cm and 17cm , but as stated u need thin speakers. I have Alpine SXS-1757 comps and they go straight in and sound good.

Bargain at £49.99 aswell.

If your powering your front components from your head unit then look at components with a low rms figure, around 20-50rms and have a high sensitivty. Dont spend anymore that £50 on them and the adapter you need is from Autoleads (SAK-3001) will allow you to fit 13 or 17 cm, go for 17cm comps though

So ive got 6x9's on a rear stealth shelf (no sub obv, as i have shelf) and then i want to upgrade my front component speakers to the (recommended by AdiSRI) Alpine SXS-1757. With a combination of the 2 speakers and my JBL GTO 6x9's would i need to amp either the front components or the 6x9's or a combination of the two? Or could i get away without it? My head unit is a Pioneer DEH-1590R, Rated 45W x4.

So what do you guys think? Can it handle the 4 speakers or does it need an amp, as i really dont wanna have to fork out for an amp as well.....

The head unit will be more like 12-18 rms. You will also need an external amp to get the best out of your speakers. Something like 4x75rms would be fine for your system.

Im not on about the best quality, all i want is noise, no that bothered bout high quality. just some quality in it. So is it worth the amp or not?

If your only wanting noise then yes get an amp. Look at some cheap ones like Sony, Pioneer or SPLX, there budget, and sound rubbish, but they will go loud
