Right, to cut a long story short, for some reason i started my car today, and water/something flooded out of the exhaust. I didnt think nothing of it at first, as all cars do this, due to condensation and what not. But when i revved mine, it sprayed out (as if it was being sick) and left a big puddle in the road. I revved it 5/6 times and the same thing happened. It slowly turned into a small drip, but to be fair i hadnt had the car started all that long. Whats this due to? Its a 2003 Corsa C 1.2 16v

Oh and, my twat of a mate put in too much oil, and on the dipstick, its gone all the way past the MAX mark, and its near enough on the metal wire. Now i cant drive it, or i'll have a nasty mess in the engine bay. What i want to know is, is it easy to bleed the tank, or is it worth me just gettin the AA to do it, since i have a vauxhall AA membership, and its free.

If you help me, you're a star

The oil sump, you can drain a bit out, but if you're doing that you might as well change the oil. Unless of course you've just changed it...

I got some oil from the petrol station, and when i came home, my mate put it in, as i spilled a bit over the engine, and wanted to get it cleaned up poste-haste, so i ran inside to get a rag. I come out and he said "ive put in half the bottle.... is that good"

I thought "wtf has he done " and checked the dipstick, and it was nearly on the wire that holds the little measuring thing. Good job i got the oil though, as when i checked it (before i went to the station) it was below the MIN mark. Now its way over the MAX. Don't get no inbetweens me

It can't do any harm to just change the oil and put the proper amount in. BUt it IS possible if you're careful with the sump plug to drain a bit out.

I asked my dad, and he said just unscrew the cap a small ammount so it trickles out, but dont take it off, or it'll all just dump out. Sounds like an easy job, but stuff like this always gets me stumped, cos im not that smart

Any idea on the exhaust problem?

Oil is a simple problem, but make sure you've got a tub or something below it

Exhaust sounds dodgy. Perhaps your car is over fueling?

Liquid out of the exhaust can only be petrol or condensation unless something is very wrong. Unless the car is running badly I wouldn't worry too much except possibly inform your dealer so if it does go pop you've covered yourself by giving them the opportunity to inspect it.

Regarding the oil, if you drain through the sump plug you will need to drain the whole lot, once the plug comes out enough to let oil out it will usually be out far enough to by pushed out by the oil draining out. Don't lose it when you're disposing of the oil, and don't cross thread it when you're putting it back in ie. fingers first, tools later.

Just phoned the AA man. He told me he cant come down, because i only have roadside assistance, and since the fault was done by me, they cant come round. He offered to upgrade me to the home service though, for £100 odd. I told him to fuck off

push the car down the street and call again

too much oil can fuck up certain seals in the engine
