Right, had it all in and ready, took plugs out and turned it over to get up some oil pressure, put plugs back in, fired up straight away first time, sounded bit rough but started to sort its self out, anyway turned it off for a min, went to start it again and wont start, turns over but doesnt even try, fuel is getting there, and plugs are sparking, any ideas

if its sparking on all cylinders and fuel is getting into the engine, then it should fire up. the only other thing is compression but if u have just had it running it shouldnt be a problem

you should have an earth from engine to body
battery to body
alternator to engine or body (In my case its body)
I had this exact problem and what i say above solved mine

as long as you get a good one and fit it correctly and look after it you will be fine,
i spent over £400 on mine over xmas
water pump, battery, alternator, cambelt and tensioners as a few things were playing up so just replaced them all in one go.
Must say its peace of mind after all

yes i did, i costed the job out for what i want
£1500 coversion
£1000 corsa gsi
£500 4 pots
£500 coilovers
£500 roll cage
£1500 repray
£1000 wheels
etc etc so i decided to get the one i have now, ive changed the wheels, kit suspension soon the brakes and interior and the money i made from selling them bits on i purchsed the new bits.
Always the way to go, and with the xe its best to replace more things in one go for peace of mind i feel, same with a let theres no point doing things by halves

all if fine now , only thing i can think it was, i noticed air flow plug wasnt plugged in properlly yesterday after we couldnt get it started, im wondering if it had flooded the engine as it has fired up straight away this morning and is running sweet apart from a little bit of tapping but didnt have it running that long.

i found when i was ironing out problems just to try as many things as i could in my garage. Stopping it starting it again after 30 mins then longer, then letting it heat up so that the fan comes on. Just to be sure if i was stuck in traffic that it was going to work . You'll get through any teething problems if you have any though just drop me a u2u or ask us on the board. You'll find the answer somewhere in the valver community
