Need a new gear linkage, as its going to take a couple of hours i will need a courtesy car (and it is going to be a fuss to sort it out with my insurance)
There is a nearer vauxhall garage near me and i wont need a courtesy car then, will they refuse to do it as the problem was spotted at a different vauxhall garage?

what is it with C's & gear linkages??
so far on both my B's, I've had no issues with the linkage & I'm very harsh changing gear!
I dont think I'll ever want a C, I'd be worried i'd break it in 5 mins of owning it!

yea its a common problem with c's. I heared their plastic???
Not had many problems with my C. When i first had it the battery wouldnt hold its charge (new battery fitted) now this after 2 years of ownership.
May aswell get it done before the warrenty is up but to be honest i dont think theres nothing wrong with the gear linkage, maybe im just used to it but the mechanic said he took it out on a test drive and said it was difficult to get into 2nd and 1st.

so true!... i was down at vaux the other day getting some bits and your woman on the phone was quoting someone 500 quid for a timing belt and water pump change on a 99 1.4 astra.... 500 quid!!!
