It should beat modded ones as the losses when moving from 4WD are big

What model?

All of them are slow IMO and the GSi is only any good after 100+ then it will eat a lot of stuff alive.

He limited in 5th because of the TYPE R sh1t out pukka Group N rally gear box with ultra close ratios and short final drive. This makes for blistering acceleration but at the expense of top end.

Haha!

Thats an RA... The Type-R LTD (note the ltd) had a nice long box.

Would find that it had circa 8000rpm+ limiter when a 2ltr, 1-4th all close, 5 VERY long. IIRC had a top end of 180ish.

Then with 2.5 in limiter dropped to 7250, struggled to go over 150-155.

Go and learn your scoobs as you own one

So The STi 6 Type R does not have the low final drive gearbox then?

Type RA just has extra doors and no EW/Air con etc, although a lot of cars had these fitted as extras.

Both R and RA versions had that gearbox im sure of it???

Not the Ltd.

Super dooper long 5th was an otional extra from the factory (which my mates had, was too much of a jump from 4th to 5th to be fair), so he had it sawpped for one from another car, but it was still long...
