At the moment I've got a 1.0l and the brakes are screeching like mad! After Xmas I will be having the 2.0l 16v put in, so will need to uprate the brakes.
I was thinking I mite as well uprate them now to the 16v brakes to stop the annoying noise instead of waiting till the conversion.
But will it cause any problems as it being only a 1.0l with the 16v brakes?

I wasn't sure as I remember reading in the Haynes/Max Power manuel about bigger brakes taking longer to get up to temperature and they wouldn't work as well on smaller engines! Something like that anyway.

they may have a bit more travel due to the larger size but the pedal can be adjusted,

Not so much "bigger" brakes, but uprated discs & pads... like EBC greenstuff, they bite much more when they are warm (moreso than standard ones) just the 2L brakes will run a bigger disc giving more leverage at the caliper 2 stop
