on a set budget, would you prefer an older but higher spec car or a newer but lower spec one?
i guess most will say better spec

Always the highest spec possible (good for resale values/demand) but a compromise on age - nothing too old.

as long as the interior is spacious enuff for fun... and is solidly built. and its taxed mot'd
and reliable i dont care
fast one is not important but is a factor
more to the question id go with older higher spec as long as its not a heap
"thats rich coming from me but hey "

higher spec'd cars tend to plummit resale wise.... from new.
'cheap' high spec cars anyway.... look at omega's and top of the line vectra's
If i was on a budget id get the best i could.... should be no question of small/big/new old Budget surely takes running costs into account too.... You may afford to buy a better old car....but can you afford to run it

indeed you can buy merc S-classes for like £5k.
Would love one to replace current barge, but would cost a FORTUNE to run
