right what i wanna do is this:
I want to make something to go from flat through 90 degress to up right!
I went into maplins today and the guy suggested a servo as is a very slow moving motor but the control box was like £80
So i need a 12v motor of some sort that moves very slowly through a minimum of 90 degrees and that can also go in reverse to put it back down!
Ive looked at actuators and motors on the net but its all abit confussing!
So i just wonderd if anyone knew of anything suitable

TBH a modle shop wont be able to help becasue of you needing a reciver to make and form of servo work unless you using a control unit

Needs to be small!
The only thing i have thought of at the mo and might sound totally stupid and is only battery powerd but what about a LEGO Technics motor
Had one as a kid and went forward and backwards at a slow speed!

Try a model shop as said. The servos used in cars. Admittedly they usually run off a reciever, but im sure someone who works there will be able to tell you the inputs to them, and so you can just lop the wire off and connect what needs to be connected i'd have thought .

i dont think these will be strong enough m8, ive had a few ideas for my boot build and didnt get very far, if ur moving any thing large i dont reckon a rc servo would stand the weight..... it mad do for a short time. perhas the way to do it would be to have a short lifter like a bonnet, and have an elctromagentic switch that keeps it in place, or something alike, just a thought, perhaps not really practical
