Are you talking about the wires which go to the back of the lighter? like in the dash? If so - just look where they go, one will to to the centre and one will be on the side.... I would imagine the red is possitive but vauxhall do have a habbit of using colours randomly so i wouldnt like to say....

You earth to the body of the car. If you look to the right of the drivers footwell there may well be an earthing point. Alternativly just use the earch on the cigarette lighter.

On the back of the cigarette lighter there are 2 wires the one which goes to the middle is possitive and the one which goes to the side is negative (if there's a third little skinny wire just ignore it...)

on the instructions it says wire the yellow wire from the switch to the positive circuit and the black wire from invertor to an earth.
i have two wires from the cig lighter. ive tried all different combinations and cant seem to get them working at all.

Are you sure the cigarette lighter works? IE do you need the ignition on/has the fuse blown?
