Please help if you can.
This is my first car so im new to all this. Anyway a month ago I got a pipercross induction kit. Made a nice noise, and no complaints for the first two weeks. I did a few short journeys, then a 120 mile airport run. Week after that I noticed whilst at lights the car revs were x2 the normal amount. My engine light has been coming on as well!!!
I reset the ecu, and all was fine for about an hour. Still did it, but not as bad.
My local AA garage wouldnt look at it, apparently they dont touch modded cars. I then went to a local shop that sells pipercross, and they told me vauxhalls have sensitive mass air flow meters, and not to worry about it.
Is anyone else having the same problem? Is it serious? do I just ignore it, and put up with it?
Thanks in advance

If the filter was unoiled, then it won't be the AFM being coated with oil causing your problem.
If AK's said carb cleaner, give that a go. If it breaks, sue his bawbag ass - he can afford it.
