into a corsa b, originally x12xe.
is there much of a difference to fit this bigger engine.. i was told they look the same, but cannot find any pictures.. has ne1 done this and have fotos or what?
i was wondering if the x18xe would be a str8 sap for the x12xe

yer mk 4 astras have it in origanally.
problem is gettin one as not many that are in good condition as astras seem to have frontal damage that is quite bad. not really worth it 125 bhp max from the sri version but may as well go for 2ltr and not the x20xe as its crap really gor for c20xe. main problem is finding cheaper modifiyin parts for the 1.8

mate to be honest got for x16xe from a sport and then while u cant afford major performance mods uprate the internals ready for throttle bodies and the car will be fine with that. problems with and engine conversion is the problems u get and none are simple as it seems. get and engine that was made for teh car easier.
i mean if i can get a 1.8 sri engine then i will but thats cos i want something differnet adn wanted to rebuild my own engine so gonna go for the 1.8 as my uncle has rebuilt his and can help me also helps when it goes wrong

X18XE was never fitted to Mk4 Astras they had X18XE1 and then Z18XE . The X!*XE was fitted to VectraB from 95-99.5 and had a hydraulic clutch set up so not best for a conversion.

X!*XE finger off the shift button steve. X18XE was fitted to the mk3 Astra. even though i have a sneaky suspicion that they are few and far between, because even most versions of the Astra mk3 got the X18XEL, the only one to get the 125bhp X18XE was the Astra Sport, with the red, yellow and blue coloured badge on the door.
