Its 18 legally yes. But your insurance may not let you until you are older. Depends on the company.
Im goin to France in July for 3-4 weeks with my girlfriend and Link insurance (through Adrian Flux) wouldnt let me add her to the policy for a month abroad because she is 20.
Check with your company mate.

All wrong.
All licences issued now are not GB licences but EURO LICENCES
As long as your insurance covers you and your legal age to drive in your country of residency then its fine
IN YOUR OWN CAR.
To hire a car you will need to be 21 or 25 depending on where you go - but your licence covers you.

Wouldn't suggest speeding over there tho as if you get caught it's 10 euro's for each km/ph over the limit, up to 170khm then they just take your car away

Speeding - lol the convoy we took over to france about 25 cars, about 5 of us inc me were infront of the others due to toll roads etc, ended up getting escorted out of the country with the police to calais

Well if you go over quite late in the evening and are driving a 319TD BMW you can average 110-130 all the way from the train to the Belgian border
