We all know Spi 1.4 are s**t, but would fitting a camshaft/cam from a nova 1.4 sr make any difference to the power output?

well on my old one i did...

full staight-thru exhaust with decat
head from 1.6i nova gsi
'slightly' adjusted the ignition timing by twisting the dizzy
1.6l injector from C16NZ

popped & banged like a bitch, but was quicker... Could actually keep up with 1.4i SRi's then

engine tho went bang in a blaze of glory & was never more

Just dug up some old threads from Migweb and found this.

'The main restrictions are:-

Extremely mild cam timing
Restrictive exhaust manifold
Conservative ECU map
Restrictive cylinder head

As such, we offer a Stage One tuning kit for your engine that uses a 270
degree camshaft with extra valve lift, plus a modified Vauxhall twin exit
exhaust manifold and tubular downpipe. This produces an extra 16ps and costs
£395.00 including VAT.

A modified airbox with additional cold air pick up and K&N panel filter
gains 3ps and costs £99.50 inc VAT.'

I wasnt planning on doing this, it was jsut an example. I can easily do this air box myself, find a better profile camsahft from an old nova, and a larger throttle body from scrappy.

As explained earlier, a larger engine is not an option
