This might be a stupid question, but why do you think my cd player cuts out when i go over bumps? My amp and sub aren't in a boot install, there just loose in the boot. Do you think thats what it could be??

if the cage isnt fitted properly then it will jump more than usual! what make is it?

More than likely. Also don't forget that if your amp is free to move around the boot and the live wire comes off it and touches your bodywork it will make a big spark and blow the fuse - you do have a fuse?

if its just skipping and music stops that'll be the bumps jogging the CD or compact disc as we call it in west countrylandshire
try covering any bare wires or metal contacts on amp and sub, use a device such as electrical tape for that satisfying wrapping effect

bless me lol.... sorry 4 being a bit thick!! Its a JBC... i think. But when i brought it he said that wasn't what was in the box, but thats the bit u can see.. it says JBC on it... if u get me.....

Depends how the system is wired in but the boot install doesn't sound particularly professional, I would consider that attention has not been paid to safety. Get it checked out.

i haven't got a boot install. The sub is in a wooden box and the amp is loose next to it.
