as some of you may know i still have the 1.2 Cat back section of exhaust on my car since i done a C16XE conversion.....

i was looking at getting a lexmaul system which has no centre section....

last night whilst on my way down the M1(the irish one ) the back box decided it didnt want to live with my car anymore and fell off so now i dont have a back box on the car... just the centre box....

i feel that i have lost some torque.... would a missing back box have this effect?

I never realised how important a correctly tuned exhaust system was until I got my new one. I now on average get an EXTRA 30-40 miles per tank with my new 2.25" system compaired with the old 1.75" std 1.2 system I was running with the valver... Its mazing!

Runs a lot smoother, other one was leaking! Its a 2.25" madrell bent system with THREE silencer boxes and a VERY nice note. Seems to be slightly better in the 3-4k rev range, seems to seriously drop off after about 5.3K revs though. All round much nicer.

or maybe the fact that the smaller exhaust was too small a bore

You don't need as much as a 2 stroke, but you certainly need some.
