as i dont know if mine is leaking, if so does it mean sump off, cambet etc to replace the seal? is it worth doing it? as i have been told its a big job, and ppl said to leave it!

leave a leaking oil pump...dont ever think about it

and yes its a sump off and new cambelt etc might as well replace the water pump tooo....

its not hard job, just sump off and un bolt oil pump,
bottom pully off crank i think too,
well basically oil pump, pumps oil about engine, if its pissing out it wont get round engine = poorly engine,
if u do it make sure you clean the surfaces up correct before putting back on!

where is oil pump, ive got my sump off at the mo, theres a sensor thing on sump its self and a like cone filter on a long pipe which attaches with 2 10mm hex head screws is that oil cooler?

if so where is oil pump then

oil pump is bolted to the cambelt side of the engine at the bottom by the sump will have a sensor in it and a big nut on the end if ya undo it there is a big spring inside

its not that big of a job... the main ballache is taking all the other crap off so you can get the pump itself out....

basically.... sump off.... bottom pulley off, timing belt off, and the bottom timingbelt sprocket off.

then undo the pickup pipe from the pump and then undo the bolts that hold the pump to the engine.....

if your crank nut has never been off before, prepare for the mission of your life to get it off! its VERY tight.
its also a bit of a mission doing it with the engine in the car - space wise
