Don't think so but I think it costs the recipient also to receive.

Nope, same money.

You'll not have to pay anymore to send, but it will cost about 30p per text for them to reply if they are on a UK network.

I've been round through the Indian Ocean and the same applied with my phone. Had people sending me texts from Italy to India and it was only me who had to pay more to send back.

Text prices from abroad may vary for them though for return. Usually between 25 and 40p. Cost me 40p from Saudi Arabia.
