one of my dads mates has got a 1.2 16v t reg corsa b 5dr, hes just come to me askin if i got parts saying hes been to a garage and they told him he needs a new air flow mass meter, so i said i aint got one, i had a spin in the car to see what the problem was and  shocking, started off put my foot down and nothing happend!! stalled it, started off again pulled away slowly and got to a bit of a stretch doin 35 then car just lost power and i dropped down a gear revved it was ok then 30sec later it lost power again, and it kept doin this till i got back, opend bonnet with engine runnin, was a bit hot lol, revved it up and it kept losing power every 30 sec or so then 5 sec later go back to revs? whats the problem soz for the essay

forgot to mention, car loses power then light comes on, rev it up light goes off power comes back? what is this, how can i do paper clip test on this as its 16 pin plug i tried wire between pin 5+6 nothin happend ?

is the problem not that it needs a new air flow mass metre? Thats what you say the garage have said at the start of your first post

yes but it could be something else aswell, thats why i want to do the paper clip test but on the 16 pin diag plug, there is no pin 5 so how da hell u supposed to do it?

sounds like what mine used to be like, when i plugged it into the scanner at work it kept saying it wanted coolant sensors and o2 sensors, so i fitted these and it didnt fix it.
Tried a Mass Air Flow meter and it fixed it, so the light may not lead you to the problem.
but from what your saying i'd go for it being mass air flow meter

think they retail at bout £180 or somethin stupid off Vaux, duno how much from scrappies give em a ring. i managed to get one for a fiver off someone i know
