Shinee will supply and fit. About £500.

It wont help your straight line traction tho.

Will benefit throught the bends, theres lots of arguments about this, some people reckon its better to have one some say better without.

I dont have one, never driven a LET with one, i have no problems in mine so cant really say other than i wont be needing to spend £500 on something i dont need.

I've been told an LSD is one of the single most beneficial mods you can do to a car being driven enthusiastically.... but that was by someone trying to sell me one

Well im starting to come round to the idea of one...

This weekend I drove my mates Nova which so he says is same spec as mine, bar an LSD, and he gets 12.7 @ 116.... I'm sure he has something else under the bonnet.

Also drove the Mk3 Astra that was on the Cossvaux stand and that grips immensly.

Only really worth it for the strip, or coming off rounderbouts. Does it justify £500-ish..... I dunno!!!

Don't think how good an LSD is, think how bad a normal diff is. Distribution of power by path of least resistance, power goes to the wheel which has broken traction back on the power as there's less weight on it out of the bend, not good. LSD fixes this.

Also helps straight line as both wheels do the same thing. Like running two subs bridged. Far better than stereo in bass!

As Ian said, a torque biasing LSD sends power to the wheel that has the MOST traction whereas the standard diff send power to the wheel with the LEAST traction [WTF!]

LSD will improve traction in a straight line as well as round the twisties!

A must have in a 2.0 litre corsa I reckon!

a diff is worthwhile mod, but if youre careful on the power you can get good times without one, having a diff will enable a lesser driver to do quick launches and get power down round corners

How can a driver compensate for a limited-slip diff?

Feed your power on, use lag on car etc....

look at the kit car for example, before it was very fast and could jsut about get power in 1st,
now with a new diff, lsd unit with different ratios!

Now full throttle launches in 1st, 0-100 is way under 10 seconds, BUT you cant get the back end to hang out like before!

A driver can compensate by feeding in throttle

Agreed really! In a Corsa that is...........the Corsa just isnt designed for big power and big engines. Weight balance is to cock and the wrong wheels are powered!

Save the money you'd spend on an LSD and buy something fast!
