i learned to drive in a the new golf 1.9TDI. He had it chipped but it sounded like it was cutting out at about 3.5k in first gear. Loved that car though

Depends I suppose

One thing I never do though is take my car into high revs when the engine is cold. Generally I drive quite sensibly

In the SXI I drive like a granny

Around town i'll keep the revs around 2.5 - 3 depending on trafic and roads.

Motorway i have been known to redline the old slut, well prob 75% of the time

dont have to go above 3k unless u are in a rush to get to

30 40 50 60 or 70

im never in a rush when driving.changing around 3k is ideal,in my opinion

I don't know, no counter, but I change gear just before I hit peak power, only got a 1.2 4 speed so i got to make the best out of it When you redline it all it does is make a load of noise and no movement, also drinks fuel....

Normal driving is changing around 5k, aggressive driving I just let it bounce off the limiter.

the rev limiter is there for a reason... to stop engine damage.... its not going to be overly bad for a car to hit it

driving every where at 2k is worse for an engine

i have a video here that says other wise.....

1st.... limiter bounce bounce bounce 2nd..... limiter bounce bounce bounce

I have also seen this vid
