My mum has a new corsa, which she got free insurance for anyone in our house over 21. Now she wants my sister to be able to drive it but doesnt want to cancel the free insurance.
So is it dodgy to take out another insurance policy on the same car with a different company?

so for example, you got a car and your boyf has a car, his insurance wont cover you on it, so you get your own insurance policy on it, they ask if your registered owner and keeper, you say no its your boyfriend
you cant do that? i thought you could

Has fuck all to do with being the owner and registered keeper Sassy, that is allowed, what isnt is to have two separate policies on the one car in the one period of insurance.

is the age old myth of being able to drive any other car third party if you're fully comp on your own policy providing you have the permission of the owner of the other vehicle and that vehicle is also insured true then or not
for example my dad has a Jag XJR which im dying to drive, could i legally drive it if i had my own fully comp policy and the jag was also fully comp and my dad said it was ok

Surely MIAFTA would show up if a car already has a policy on it.

You could drive it if your insurance policy allowed you to drive other cars.
Not all do, especially if you're young.
If it says on your policy you can do it though.
Not a myth at all.

Only if your policy states you can!!
You can sometimes add it for extra if it doesnt although not many companies want to give this to young drivers.
