any tips?
i got some:kurust as some parts are a bit dodgy
anti rust primer
black hammerite.

was going to wire brush the worst of it off then sand down where necessary with aluminium oxide paper?

nice big brush - not like anyones gonna see it unless you like getting seriously airborne!

well the mechanic sed that it needed doing or it wont pass its next mot. i had an advisory on my last mot for underbody corrosion, it doesnt look2 bad so i thought i would treat it then paint it so its protected from rust?

i did this on my last car. i just washed it from underneath with a jet spray, let it dry and then applied underseal to it. looked good when i finished but it was a mess job and i got it everywhere!!

i have undersealed mine 3 times in the last 12 months

there is no rust what so ever on it

its worth doing m8 while its winter, with salt n crap on the road. should protect it

u might need two coats to get a good thick layer

stops the car from rusting away! thats the point of it.

remove ALL rust, then underseal it mate. best thing is a wire brush, and a small thin paint scraper

I have done this. Its better than painting as it doesnt get stone chips...

I did it with some kind of black (available in shine or mat) thick coat.

It is something like on the inner arches.

You can buy it in canns to paint it with an air compressor

It is now on for over 2 years => never seen probs with it.

i know the stuff u mean, cant remember what its called ,used to use it on the underside of lorries. good stuff

Paint brush. I done my arches front and rear and the whole rear end on the Nova before PVS. I intend to do the rest of the car soon but I want to get underneath it properly so might ask the bodyshop if I can go down there on a Saturday when they are quiet and do it then.

ended up painting everything with hammerite, took a while but was worth it once done, talking about it think its about time i do it again
