Rather scarily, I had an email today from the MD of Altaire (the company who hosted the forums originally (before fasthosts and now midphase). I'm a personal friend of the chap and he forwarded an e-mail his company had received that was (rather convincingly) pretending to be someone who claims to know me but has lost contact since the site moved and needed to contact me regarding on official business and was after my contact address and telephone number. Needless to say this person has not been given any of this information in this instance, but it's still a concern.
wonder why he is worried, i see he has removed his address from the whois but i still have it somewhere

That is a big concern.
I really hope it turns out to be nothing, we all have enough to worry about without something like this to add to the mix
