take wheel off (easier) there is a plug on side of gearbox, make sure car is level, take plug out if oil comes out u know its enough in if not fill up till it comes out of hole

well thats how i did mine, mine was bone dry filled it full, got to belgium must have spat it all out (out of drive shaft seals) started car up at show jumpin into gear a bit and cuttin out) i was thinkin oh shit filled full before driving back to the ferry was dry again and grindin by this point, got from Dover to Sheffield shittin myself incase it siezed up and the wheels stopped turning left car at mates then decided to drive back the nxt morning then beardy came to the rescue to fit a new one

just change it.... you dont know what type of oil is in it at the mo....
fresh new oil... check haynes for spec

When you go to Halfords they have a thingie that tells you what oil you need 
Though, as I am a nice knowlegable guy I can tell you that you need 2 litres of EP 80w manual transmission oil on an F 20 and probably the same on an F 16.

Dunno how to get the oil out really... Probably best way to do it is by taking the diff plate off, then it will all come out at onece
