MIght be going soon......

never been before...... indoors i think... so any tips people? Not doing it unless i recon i can finish well against the other students

tips? or just general car rules apply?

Nah seriously Indoor karts are gutless and if your fat your kart will be slow at accelerating, and considering indoor tracks are narrow you can carry your speed better, but you'll never get past.

wear a fucking scarf too, specially if the helmet and jump suit leaves an open neck, your gonna have bad bad neck pains the next morning

they corner alot harder than you would think... but its difficult to re-gain your line if you loose the back end...!

as said, the fastest drivers are the smoothest

dont brake just trhow it round the corners, kinda like how you drive a corsa

Braking is for poofs I usually go flat out and ease off before corners.

Only brake if someone is in front and I can't get past

Just stay smooth, brake before corners and accelerate out. So many idiots just hit the corner too hard and spin

as already said, you have to stay smooth. and also there aren't usually many corners where you need to brake, so just take foot off the pedal and carry the corner speed.

If you've used proper karts (including some decent indoor ones), then you HAVE to brake!

Unless you like driving THROUGH tyre barriers at great speed, that is...

It the gokarts are automatic, or only have one gear, when you go into corners hit the break without taking yuor foot off the throttle - it keeps the revs up so they don't bog down when leaving corners.. Unhealthy for the karts, but okay if you don't own them =p

when cornering make sure you shift your weight to the outside wheel to assist grip!

what engine size should propper karts have? locally we can rent 9hp (petrol) karts

Depends on the place. Doesnt sound like much, but 9 HP is quite a bit really, when your not used to being so exposed and sitting 3 inches off the floor .

Where I used to work, they used 250cc single cylinder 4 strokes, and they were pretty nippy really. Could get plently of speed built up anyway .

Depends on the track really and the kart, but i always used to jab the brakes before the corner on sharp bends, or let off, and "scrub" the speed off round the corner by making the kart understeer .

well i went.......and i came 2nd so not too bad considering ive never been before. bit different to the corsa lol,they dont understeer
