Hey guys......

Can anyone tell me if a lad i know on msn is bullshitting or not here

I wanna go away with my gf to holland for a holiday, ive not had my lience for driving more than maybe 4 months now...But i feel ill be fine with it and its something i wanna do...

yet this lad told me that you cant drive over there (dunno if thats abroad in general) for 2yrs after passing your test

is this true?

You have to be 21 or older and have held your driving licence for 3 years or more to drive a hire car. If you drive your own car then your ok.

Oh also, say the country you are going to says it's law for you to be 18 to drive then you cannot drive there. That's why people who learn to drive in America at aged 15 or 16 cannot come over here and use thier U.S. licence.... Though I guess thats quite obvious....

Yes, but most insurance companys cover you if you are driving in the EU. Best to check before you leave.

yeh you need to check with your insurance company that you are covered abroad - i was fine the couple of times i drove over lastyear will need to check with flux tho when i go next week - Didnt cost me anymore though just made sure i got AA cover overseas incase

learning to drive in holland you have to be 18....but where does it say you arent allowed to use a UK lience over there?

Their law states you have to be 18 to drive on thier roads. So if you are 17 and have learnt to drive here where you can drive at 17 your licence will only be valid in other countrys which allow you to drive at 17 or younger.

another question.....just curious but does anyone know what the current fuel cost is per liter (in pence please) for france, belgium, holland

curious how cheap it is compared to here.......as its 89.9 by me
